Tasting: Raúl Pérez is considered one of the icon winemakers of Spain’s northwest, learning from one of the pioneers of the resurgence of Bierzo (as well as, and more famously, Priorat) Álvaro Palacios, Raúl’s name is now synonymous with Bierzo. From the La Vizcaína range, each wine is named after the single vineyard from which the fruit originates. La Vitoriana is aromatically suave, aromas of soft strawberry and cassis, with a sophisticated palate of black plum, dark cacao and deliciously silky texture.
