A leader of the organisation Productores de Vinos Naturales, José was determined to
re-discover the old winemaking traditions of his home town of Montilla, he began his project in 1999 and makes a stunning array of wonderfully creative wines from pedro ximenez, moscatel, tempranillo, syrah and recovered indigenous variety montepila.

His vineyards are farmed organically and he grows grass between his rows to prevent soil erosion. His wines are made simply of fermented juice with no additions, fining or filtration, the result is wines that are wholly expressive of variety, terroir and climate.
