Bodegas Vinificate started in 2011 by brothers Míguel and Jóse Gomez Lucas in the town of San Fernando, Cádiz.
After graduating from studying chemistry, they decided to make wine without using any! They farm palomino fino, tintilla de rota and tempranillo planted on predominantly albariza soils with some on sand and chalk arena soil, they farm organically, follow some biodynamic principles, and use no additives with minimal intervention in the winery. Their vineyards total 5ha and are based in Chiclana, Sanlucar de Barremada and Jerez de la Frontera.

They are part of the movement of reviving non fortified table wine from what is traditionally Sherry country. The Mahara Dorada showcases what Palomino Fino can do as and unfortified table wine. Macerated on skins in amphora for 7 days, pressed off and then left in amphora for 9 months. Aromas of chamomile, ocean breeze and citrus combine with a delicious palate of nuts, wet rocks, citrus, white flowers, and a crunchy saline sea spray
Tasting: From Andalusian natives the Gómez-Lucas brothers, chemistry graduates that decided to make wine without synthetic chemicals. The grapes for this wine go through an extended 6-month maceration on the skins before aging in Amphora, a combination that balances concentration and elegance. The resulting wine is dark in the glass but medium bodied, with an intense nose of purple flowers, garrigue herbs, and sea air. On the palate, the wine shows pretty red and black fruit, a gamey, savory note, and a saline mineral core. Bottled un-fined and unfiltered with no sulphites added.
